Looking good would never have been so easy...

I would have posed like Janis Dickenson for my driver's license photo as a celebratory gesture to having passed my driver's test, looking good would never have been so easy, but as Canada would have it, looking good in any way in your driver's license photo is not allowed. So, instead, I settled for the mandatory route most traveled by, looking like an angry member of the Queen's Guard.

I sat in the chair and waited for the camera to flash. Blinded for a second I blinked, stood up, and walked over to see the final result.

"Well, at least it looks better than the one on my learner's license," I thought, looking at the old photo and the new one on the screen.

My 14-year-old-learners-license-photo self was just out of the awkward stage, with half-straightened hair, puffy eyes, and over-plucked eyebrows. When I finally got my learner's license in the mail I remember thinking, "Wow, I look snazzy!" Now I can look back and laugh at how bad I looked in that photo. No Janis Dickenson there...

This is me and my driver's training instructor. I'm fake smiling because my ankles are freezing off.

For posterities sake, I am going to record that I passed my driver's test first try with 15 demerit points marked off, because who hasn't asked their parents how they did on their driver's test?

Thanks for reading!
