I'm dyslexic. Albert Einstein and I are pretty much one and the same: dyslexic, and always have grrrreeeaat hair days. Anyways, now that you know that, I can tell you about my "infirmity."
Being dyslexic, physically reading a book is hard (hence my audiobook addiction). This is no problem with me. Anytime I can listen to a book or podcast, I am (huge multi-tasker here). Since I listen to A TON of books, I thought I would share some of the best books I have read so far this year.
#1 The Moonstone - Wilkie Collins
You know a good book when you can re-read it twice and, it is just as good the second time as the first time around! I finished it yesterday for the second time and, I'm so sad it's over :(
The Moonstone tells the story of a diamond that is stolen from a temple in India. It is said that whoever has the diamond will be followed by three priests from the temple until they can get it back. When the diamond is given to Rachel Verinder on her birthday, she puts it in her cabinet for the night, but in the morning it is gone and it wasn't the priests that stole it. There is nothing else to say about this one other than that it is just SOOOOOOOOOOO GOOD!!!
#2 Hunger Games - Suzanne Collins
I read the Hunger Games earlier this year and binged the entire series in a few days. Almost every night I would listen until 3:00 am and then would not be able to fall asleep because I wanted to know what happened next. Everybody has probably read the series already, but still, I would like to revel in its greatness a little bit. Highly recommend!
#3 Northanger Abbey - Jane Austen
Who doesn't love a good Jane Austen? Northanger Abbey follows a young girl (named Catherine) who goes with some friends to Bath, England. While there, she meets Isabella Thorpe, James Thorpe (my blood boils every time I think of them) and, the Tilneys. After being invited to stay at the Tilney's house, Catherine is mysteriously cast out and sent home. And classic Jane Austen style somebody gets married. ;)
Thanks for reading!
